TORN IN TIME

I did not die in Viet Nam
But a "Part of Me" certainly did
So in order to function in society
I keep that "Part of Me" deeply hid

Very often, on sleepless nights
That "Part of Me" appears
Pulling the other "Part of Me"
Into yesterday's torment and fears

Daily, a "Part of Me" from the past
Struggles with a "Part of Me" from today
Leaving the major "Part of Me"
Torn-in-Time each and every day
