FOR GOD AND COUNTRY

I enlisted
To serve in Viet Nam
And to fight
For God and Country
But my Country
Did not support me
And God was hard to find
In the deadly jungles
And killing fields of Viet Nam
So I fought for the most worthy cause
That I could think of,
Myself and my Buddies
And many of my buddies died
Fighting for God and Country
Or so they thought.
May they rest in peace.
