WOULD WE INVITE HIM IN?

A child born on the wrong side of the tracks
Born in a run down trailer, the things we take for granted it lacks.
A male child, a first born to a couple that would do their best
Now the mother giving birth at home she knows she is blessed.

The boy grows and the family is quiet amazed at his loving ways
For he certainly wasn't born with much, but love he gave on all his days.
They did their best, took him to Church and read to him from the Good Book
At times it wasn't easy so cold inside that they huddled to read and shook.

As the young boy grows and time to start to school
He was always mindful of others and tried to follow the golden rule.
At every school that he entered he was shuffled about
No one wanted to teach this boy for he was trash there was no doubt.

But attend school he did and soon learned fast and understood
Because of his families meager means he tried so very hard to be extra good.
One day at school, lunch was very little at best
Another boy sitting alone on the steps not eating hungry he guessed.

Our young boy goes over and asks why he is alone
I lost my lunch today and it's just to far to go home.
So our boy reaches into his sack and takes out his lunch
Breaks his only sandwich in half and tells the boy it isn't much.

Our boy grows into a young man and his manner is different than the rest
Long hair, a beard, worn cloths, but they were his best.
On Sunday's he tried to go to Church and at each the congregation laughed and made fun
So on Sunday's he gathered with others at a stream and read the Bible while sitting in the morning sun.

One Sunday morning while on his way to the steam he passed a big fine Church
With strained eyes he watched as the people coming for what they did search
Stained glass windows, a huge cross and bells that rang from a huge steeple
He wondered, with curiosity at what was really bringing these people

There he stands outside the church, long hair, worn cloths, and wearing sandals
"Hurry", came from inside, "let's close the door". "He may be nothing but a vandal"
Still he stands in wonderment and longs to worship inside.
Is this our Church? Would we close the door and hide?

You see Christ lives in all of us and in you too he resides
Could it be that Jesus is visiting us and we judge by what we see outside?
Red, Black, Brown, or White, Jesus was sent to die for ALL men
Shouldn't we invite him in for he is our BEST friend?
