June 2009: Tolerance
- Beloz: Ruby Alexandra
- Campos: Melanie C.
- Jones: Colin F.
- Pressley: Wally
- Reith: Richard W.
- Woodfork: Thurman P.
After hearing the announcement that “Japan apologises to US veterans of Philippines campaign” and the wonderful poem Ruby has written and her word suggestion, the theme this month is ‘Tolerance’.
Definitions of Tolerance:
- noun: the act of tolerating something
- noun: the power or capacity of an organism to tolerate unfavorable environmental conditions
- noun: willingness to recognize and respect the beliefs or practices of others
- noun: a disposition to allow freedom of choice and behavior
- noun: a permissible difference; allowing some freedom to move within limits
What is tolerance in your view? Why is there not enough tolerance in the world? Is there such a thing as to much tolerance of certain actions? Have you overcome a prejudice or hatred of someone or something, thus moving into tolerance and became a better person for it?
