CRITICISM
It is never ever very wise
For fellow soldiers to criticize
We get enough of that from our NCOs
Inspecting, looking down their nose
Constructive criticism teaches us
To do the drills without a fuss
Blindfolded stripping of the Bren-gun
Re-assemble, quick load, and it’s done!
Unfair criticism can hurt one’s feelings
Taking false glory is just like stealing
The gossips in the soldier’s clan
Spread Dear John letter info if they can
Soldiers often demoralize, scandalize, and criticize
By barrack room embellishments and telling lies
It hurts a lot more when men are overseas
And they receive criticism about things like these!
