SUNSHINE
I wrote a poem,
In deep and dark thought.
And for my labor – It
‘Twas thought naught.
Does not matter,
To hear this chatter:
Yet – Makes me sadder,
They not understand.
What I write is not of hand,
But from the soul, passed to hand.
For in my soul is a glitter of light,
A ray of sunshine that keeps away night.
If the poem saves just one girl,
My life will be a total whirl.
That ray of sunshine
Will grow to a glow.
Make my life brighter,
And want you to know.
That ray of sunshine
Will forever flow.
