LIVING WITH TEACHERS
I live among my teachers
I’m learning every day
Observing all God’s creatures
Has helped me find my way
Every day of every year
I’m home-schooled by my spouse
The times that she isn’t here
Our home reverts to house
When children were my new assignment
With few tools for my trade,
My life was lived in misalignment
Still, the Lord gave me a passing grade
My enemies have taught me too
With guns replacing books
That there are other points of view
Behind the different looks
My peers of pen, you’re also my teachers
You teach by word and deed
You’ve taught me one important feature…
To write… one first must read!
Now I’m my grandkids’ student
They’re teaching me so well
That recess is fun and prudent
And this time folks… I get to ring the bell!
